Jesus came to save and redeem the world. He came to die for the sins of all those who would trust in Him. He proclaimed this good news to the poor. He restored sight to the blind. He brought mercy and forgiveness to the whore. He came to set the captive free. Jesus came to restore all of his creation. Then, at the end of his earthly ministry, he commanded his followers to go into all the world and be witnesses to this fact — to participate in his work of transformation and restoration with our words and lives. We call this MISSIONS.

At Rio we believe the work of the Gospel in human hearts has the power not only to save us from our sins, but also to restore and redeem creation. It has the power to redeem poverty, injustice, disease, oppression, and all forms of human suffering. Most importantly, it has the power to secure people for an eternity in perfect relationship with their Creator. And so for us, LIFE IS MISSION. Our mission begins in our own homes, but it also extends to the remotest parts of the earth.

Our desire is to raise up, encourage, and equip people from our congregation for this mission, wherever the Lord may lead them. With that in mind, we, Rio, seek to establish BEACHHEADS around the world in partnership with ministries who share this biblical vision for the transformation and restoration of God’s creation through the Gospel shared and modeled among the lost.

What we look for in the BEACHHEADS we support:

1) Passionate belief in the power of the Gospel as the preeminent means of transforming people and culture

2) Addresses Need, both physical and spiritual

3) Church planting / support at the core of philosophy and strategy

4) Understanding of local culture and the most important and urgent ministry needs

5) Meaningful ways that Rio can participate directly in the ministry with our time and talent, not just treasure (money)

6) A desire for excellence in all things reflected in excellent leadership and effective use of resources

How you can get involved in missions through Rio:

SUPPORT: Sponsor a child in India or Haiti. Donate to our missions scholarship fund, which helps those who struggle financially attend a mission trip. Discover opportunities to use your unique gifts and resources for short term objectives and / or long range projects.

GO: Join us on one of our short term missions trips. Click the beachhead link of the country you are interested in serving, and sign up for more information about upcoming mission trips. Signing up does not bind you to the trip it just alerts our Missions Pastor that you are interested.

PRAY: Get involved in International Missions by dedicating yourself to praying for our brothers and sisters all over the world. Ephesians 6:18 tells us to “pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.” We, the Church, should be praying for those in need. So join us, and make praying for the Church part of your day! Visit and bookmark this link that updates each month with a calendar of prayer requests from Christians all over the world:
