Personal Worship

This Week's Passage:

Psalm 15

Getting Started

All you need is a Bible and journal. We recommend the Reformation Study Bible 2015 Edition. Then find a quiet place where you can eliminate distractions, turn off your phone and set aside at least 15 minutes. Begin in prayer. Ask the Lord to show you what He wants you to see.
A helpful prayer might be Psalm 139:23-24:

Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

REMEMBER GOD

God's character is found in all His creation as well as in His inerrant word. Spend this time in prayer and meditation of His Glory.

BE HONEST WITH HIM ABOUT YOURSELF

Part of knowing our God is also understanding who we are not. Confess the ways you do not reflect His character.

REST IN HIS GRACE

God does not let us languish and sin is not the final word. Grace is the final word by the sacrifice of his Son, Jesus. Describe the ways you feel His love, grace, and mercy.

RECEIVE HIS WISDOM

God's supreme wisdom for life is revealed through His Word. Read this week's scripture below with humility, relating the characters and themes to your own life. (You can find this week's passage above or on the Rio Vista Church App)

DO WHAT HE SAYS

In light of your time in prayer and scripture, what do you feel God is asking you to do? How can you carry over this rhythm of grace into your home, work, and leisure today? Keep a running list this week and let His wisdom challenge you toward meaningful growth.
