Personal Worship
We end the week remembering Jesus and his love for us.
Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.
As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.
Prayer of Approach
Lord, as I come to you this morning I ask that your Word that I read and meditate on not return void in my heart. Let your Word accomplish the task that you have set before it and let it succeed in the way you have sent it. Bury the truths you have for me today in my heart.

We choose to rejoice in the power of God’s Word, with all his people in Psalm 103:
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 103:1-5
Today we are reflecting on the words of Scripture in Isaiah 53 where we read:
Who has believed what he has heard from us?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
For he grew up before him like a young plant,
and like a root out of dry ground;
he had no form or majesty that we should look at him,
and no beauty that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
and as one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
yet he opened not his mouth;
like a lamb that is led to the slaughter,
and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent,
so he opened not his mouth.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away;
and as for his generation, who considered
that he was cut off out of the land of the living,
stricken for the transgression of my people?
And they made his grave with the wicked
and with a rich man in his death,
although he had done no violence,
and there was no deceit in his mouth.
Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him;
he has put him to grief;
when his soul makes an offering for guilt,
he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;
the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied;
by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant,
make many to be accounted righteous,
and he shall bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many,
and he shall divide the spoil with the strong,
because he poured out his soul to death
and was numbered with the transgressors;
yet he bore the sin of many,
and makes intercession for the transgressors.
Isaiah 53:1-12
This prophecy was written hundreds of years before Jesus was born on this earth. Not only is it amazing that Jesus fulfilled it, but how beautiful is Jesus? Jesus the eternal Son of God willingly became a man of sorrows so that you can have life. That Jesus loves you and died for you. No matter what you have done, no matter where you find yourself right now God sees you, knows you, and cares for you. Jesus knew the cost of what coming to this earth in the flesh meant for him and he did it willingly. That your worth and value are not the sum of all of the things in this world. Your worth is infinitely valuable because the infinitely valuable Jesus was crucified on a cross. Take some time today and rest in this truth. Read the verses slowly and sit in them. Feel the love of God being poured out over you today.
Jesus, I praise you for what you have done for me. I ask that you would allow my heart to truly know your love for me at this moment. All of my shame and fears are washed away at your feet.
1) Where am I doubting the love of Jesus for me right now?
2) What do I need to confess to him?
3) Where do I need to cling to Jesus right now and stop relying on my own power in this life?
Lord, through the power of you speaking you bring life out of nothing, I saw that at creation. I plead with you now to do it again. Speak life into my heart. Revive the areas that are dead and do not stop there. Speak life over this city and the people in it. Revive our weary and cold hearts to shine forth your glory.
As I read the passage again slowly, I listen for anything that You would say to me in it. Help me see how to position my life in order to yield to your word.

Yielding Prayer
Jesus, you are the man of sorrows. Let the sufferings of this life draw me to you knowing the sufferings that you went through for me. Let me see the cross and love you have for me. Fill me with your Spirit and let me rest in you and in you alone today.
Yielding Promise
And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in Matthew 6:33:
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Closing Prayer
Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus.
