Personal Worship
Today we look at Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer and see his desire for his people to be unified.
Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.
As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.
Prayer of Approach
King Jesus, you are the Lord and Author of all life, including mine. I bow before your throne today. You are God and I am not. I desire to meet and experience all you have for me at this time.
I choose to rejoice, with all God’s people, in the powerful promise that God gives us in Psalm 135…
Praise the Lord.
Praise the name of the Lord;
praise him, you servants of the Lord,
you who minister in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God.
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant.
For the Lord has chosen Jacob to be his own,
Israel to be his treasured possession.
Psalm 134:1-4
As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.
“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

As I reread the passage, I reflect on the questions, “How is my life touched by this word?” and “How does this passage connect with my life?”

John 17:20-26
The Gospel of John records what we call Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer. It is the prayer that Jesus prays right before he is betrayed and arrested. What is on the heart of Jesus? What is on his heart in such a way that he prays to the Father in this moment for it? Unity. He wants his people to be one as he and the Father are one. That is quite the calling and quite the ask, but that is the power of the gospel.
Lord, I ask that you show me what unity looks like and why you desire it for your people.
Heavenly Father, we come before you, seeking revival for our nation. Restore our hearts, turning us back to your ways. Pour out your Spirit across America, igniting faith, hope, and love in every corner. Heal our divisions, renew our minds, and guide our leaders with wisdom and humility. May your truth and grace sweep through this land, transforming lives and drawing us closer to You.
As I read the passage for the final time, I listen for how the Lord is inviting me to respond to him. Where in my life do I need to yield in obedience to what he has for me?

Yielding Prayer
Lord, you call me to unity with my brothers and sisters in Christ. That is so difficult at time, but you call me to obey you in it. Fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit and let me seek all the unity I can be a part of.
Yielding Promise
And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in Romans 8…
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Closing Prayer
Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus.
