Personal Worship
We look at what it looks like to abide in Jesus today.
Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.
As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.
Prayer of Approach
Lord, as I enter into my time with you, would you meet with me? I desire to know you more. Through your Word and prayer, let me experience who you are. Fill me with your Holy Spirit now.
I choose to rejoice, with all God’s people, in the powerful promise that God gives us in Psalm 95…
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
Psalm 95:1-5
As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me, he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. As I reread the passage, I reflect on the questions, “How is my life touched by this word?” and “How does this passage connect with my life?”

Jesus reveals that lasting fruitfulness flows only from remaining in him. Just as branches have no life apart from the vine, our spiritual vitality depends on daily, humble dependence on Christ. The Father lovingly prunes us—not to harm us, but to help us grow—shaping our lives so that we bear fruit that reflects his character. Abiding in Jesus means trusting his words, welcoming his discipline, and choosing obedience as an expression of love. When we remain in him, his joy becomes our strength, and our lives point beyond ourselves to the glory of God.
Lord, let me abide in you today. Draw me near to you and hold me close.
Lord, I ask that you would pour out your Spirit on your people. Awaken the sleepers in the midst of the Church and ignite the fire within their souls. Meet with your people uniquely and powerfully in this season. Let us see your hand at work!
As I read the passage for the final time, I listen to how the Lord is inviting me to respond to him. Where in my life do I need to yield in obedience to what he has for me?

Yielding Prayer
Father God, you are the wise and loving Gardener. I choose to remain in your Son and to trust your work in my life, even when pruning is painful or unclear. Help me to abide in Christ, to treasure his words, and to obey him out of love. Cut away whatever keeps me from bearing fruit, and let my life produce joy that brings you glory. I yield myself fully to you.

And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in Luke 11…
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!

Closing Prayer
Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus
