Today, we remember that the same Jesus we first trusted for salvation is the Jesus in whom we are called to walk in every day.
Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.
As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.
Prayer of Approach
Jesus, let me behold you today. By the power of the Holy Spirit, let me see you for who you are! You are the God who deserves all honor and glory forever. Open my eyes to your Word today.
I choose to rejoice, with all God’s people, in the powerful promise that God gives us in Psalm 1…
Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
Psalm 1:1-2
As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:6-7
As I reread the passage, I reflect on the questions, “How is my life touched by this word?” and “How does this passage connect with my life?”

We do not graduate from needing Jesus. Just as we received Christ by faith, we are called to continue walking in him by faith every day. Paul pictures our lives as being rooted like a tree and built up like a strong structure, both dependent upon Christ as our foundation. The deeper our roots grow in him, the steadier we become when circumstances change around us. As we grow in Christ, gratitude should increasingly overflow from our lives because we recognize that everything we have comes from him.
Jesus, by the power of your Spirit, root me and build me in you. Establish my faith and give me a heart of thanksgiving as I walk in you.
Lord, revive us by drawing our hearts deeper into Christ. Strengthen shallow roots, rebuild weak foundations, and create in us a faith that remains steady through every season. May gratitude overflow from your people because we know how much we have received from you.
As I read the passage for the final time, I listen to how the Lord is inviting me to respond to him. Where in my life do I need to yield in obedience to what he has for me?

Yielding Prayer
Jesus, I choose to walk in you today. Root my heart in your truth, build my life upon your grace, and establish me firmly in faith. Lead every step I take and let my life overflow with thanksgiving.
Yielding Promise
And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in Jeremiah 17…
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8
Closing Prayer
Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus
