Personal Worship
Today, we invite Jesus into our closest relationships and everyday responsibilities, remembering that every part of life can become an act of worship to him.
Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.
As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.
Prayer of Approach
Jesus, you are above all things and everything in my life. I humbly come to your feet in worship. Remind me by the power of your Word of who you are, of who I am, and what you have called me to in this life. Fill me with a desire to behold you now.
I choose to rejoice, with all God’s people, in the powerful promise that God gives us in Psalm 128…
Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
who walks in his ways!
You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
Psalm 128:1-2
As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.
Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.

As I reread the passage, I reflect on the questions, “How is my life touched by this word?” and “How does this passage connect with my life?”

Following Jesus transforms not only our public worship but also the ordinary relationships and responsibilities of daily life. Paul speaks into marriages, families, parenting, work, and authority because Jesus intends to be Lord over every part of who we are. Whether anyone notices our effort or not, we can serve faithfully because ultimately we are serving Christ. This frees us from living primarily for human approval and invites us to work with sincerity and wholehearted devotion. When our relationships and responsibilities are surrendered to Jesus, even ordinary moments can become sacred acts of faithfulness.
Lord, I ask that you transform how I interact with those closest to me.
Lord, bring revival into our homes, relationships, workplaces, and everyday responsibilities. Restore love, patience, integrity, and wholehearted devotion among your people.
As I read the passage for the final time, I listen to how the Lord is inviting me to respond to him. Where in my life do I need to yield in obedience to what he has for me?

Yielding Prayer
Jesus, I surrender my closest relationships and daily responsibilities to you. Help me to serve others with humility and to work wholeheartedly, knowing that everything I do can be offered to you.
Yielding Promise
And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in 1 Corinthians 15…
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Closing Prayer
Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus
