4KIDS Family Advocacy Ministry

What is Family Advocacy Ministry?

With our Ministry Partners, 4KIDS of South Florida, our Family Advocacy Ministry (FAM) helps identify, equip, and support families within our church community who can care for children in foster care. We believe a family’s source of strength can be found in those who are willing to wrap around them through a Community Care Team.

What is the Community Care Team?

An engineered team, much like extended family, of 4-8 committed volunteers who support and serve a foster family and their foster children. For more information on Team roles, please click on the image below.

Watch this video for a full explanation. (Please note this video is targeted toward the Foster Parents, but provides a great overview of the intent and organization of the Community Care Team.  All individuals serving on the Care Team will be asked to attend the launch and meet and greet.)

Community Care Team Expectations & Time Commitments

After the launch (1-1.5 hrs) and team meet and greet (2-3 hours), you can expect to serve the family 3-5 hours each month through your preferred role by providing regular and ongoing practical help such as meals, tutoring, childcare, transportation, laundry, yard work, etc.

Your First Step

Your first step in getting involved with the Family Advocacy Ministry and serving a family is to attend our next event! These events are designed to educate you on the foster care crisis and equip you to serve families on an ongoing team. While the event is free, registration is requested to plan for food and resources.  Get started now and complete the registration link below.

Ready to become a Foster Family?

Our Ministry Partner, 4KIDS, is propelled by the vision of a home for every child. Becoming a foster parent is one of the direct ways that you meet an immediate need by opening your heart and home to children who need the love of a family.  Every day 7 to 11 kids are removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment in our community. Many will be separated from their siblings, live in shelters or group homes, or be sent out of their home county. 4KIDS believes every child deserves to be in a home, with a loving family.
