The most significant week in the Church calendar is here! We will kick things off this Palm Sunday (9 & 11 AM), in which we will remember how Jesus came riding into Jerusalem on a donkey to shouts of “Hosanna!”
Just a few days later, join us again in the worship center at 6:30 PM on Maundy Thursday. Just as Jesus gathered with His disciples around the table for a Last Supper, so we will partake from the table that represents our justification and ongoing communion with Him.
On Friday night we will gather again at 6:30 PM in the worship center for a Good Friday Tenebrae service. Tenebrae means “darkness” and refers to a “service of shadows,” which is an age-old tradition in which the lights (including the sun) grow dimmer with each reading from Christ’s passion.
On Saturday night (you guessed it: 6:30 PM in the worship center) we will hold vigil at Jesus’ tomb. This service stands out from the others in that it is conducted in silence from beginning to end. Bring your smartphones, scan the QR code provided at the entrance, and follow along a self-guided liturgy. This is a Rio-family favorite, so don’t miss it.
Finally, on Easter Sunday Morning (9 & 11 AM), all the shadows and darkness will be swept away in the light of the resurrected Jesus! Invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers, families, and the guy behind you in the Publix checkout lane. Jesus is risen and it’s gonna be a PARTY!

I look forward to walking with you through the unfolding drama of Christ’s suffering, death, and resurrection this week. Don’t come late to the movie! Meaning: make every effort to be at all five services: Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday.
Your brother,
Ryan
