I loved last Sunday’s closing song “Daily Bread” so much that I plugged it in as our communion song this weekend. The lyrics and a link to listen are below. Please take some time to meditate on the words and how they apply to your life right now. Most of the song’s content comes directly from Psalm 73, if you have time to read it too.
Also consider what is required of you to take communion “in a worthy manner” (1 Cor. 11:27-29). Are you at peace with God and others? Or is there any area where repentance or restoration is needed? Prayerfully seek God’s face this weekend and come to church ready to give Him your best worship.
Your brother,
Ryan
Daily Bread
(Verse 1)
Waking up to manna
Coming to my senses
You meet me in my grumbling
You give me my portion
Though flesh and heart may fail me
Your strength is there to hold me
Keeping my heart steady
You are my portion
You are my portion
(Chorus)
You are our daily bread
You are our daily bread
And we will seek Your face
Before we seek Your hand
You are our daily bread
You are our daily bread
And we desire You
Before the Promised Land
(Verse 2)
Whom have I in Heaven
There is none upon earth
Thеre is none besidе You
You give me my portion
My envy of the boastful
Lead me to confusion
Until I realized Jesus
That You are my portion
You are my portion
(Bridge)
It is good for me to draw near my God
It is good for me to trust in my God
(Bridge)
It is good for me to draw near my God
It is good for me to trust in my God
It is good for me to declare all His works
It is good for me You are good for me
