Prepare
for Worship

By: Ryan Brasington

Hey, Church!

Jesus promised, “where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them.” Certainly, His presence is with you in your private times of prayer and devotion. And yet He assures us that when His people gather in His name, He is uniquely and dependably present. Not only “I will be there,” but “there am I,” as if He is the first one in the sanctuary on Sunday morning, eagerly anticipating our arrival.

Since this is a promise Jesus made, we can and should pray it back to Him with full confidence that He will keep His word. Sunday morning, ask expectantly: “Jesus, will you come and meet with us today?” Plead, also, for a greater awareness of His presence in the room. He will stand in our midst, interceding in prayer and rejoicing over us, His dearly loved sons and daughters.

“When [God’s] children assemble themselves to worship Him, there is nothing more certain than His promised presence.”*

Come expectant this Sunday!

Your brother,

Ryan
