Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Most of us are carrying something into this weekend.
Maybe it is a decision you don’t know how to make or something maybe happening with one of your kids. Maybe work has been difficult or someone you love is sick. Maybe you are waiting on an answer.
Sometimes we carry these things so long that we hardly notice how heavy they have become.
Preparing for worship can be an opportunity to name those burdens and bring them back to the Lord. And so before tomorrow, take a moment to name what feels heaviest and bring it to the Lord. Pray simply: “Father, You know this better than I do. You know what I want, what I fear, and what I cannot control. I give this to You.”
1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
I love that last part — He cares for you. The situation may not change by tomorrow morning. But you can walk into worship remembering that you are not carrying it alone.
And so bring the burden with you if you need to. Just remember who is carrying you.
Your brother,
Mason
