Personal Worship

We remind ourselves of Satan’s end today.

Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.

Pause

As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.

Prayer of Approach

Lord, as I enter into this time, I hold close the promise that you draw near to your children when we draw near to you. I am drawing near. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and speak to me through your Word and prayer.

Rejoice and Reflect

I choose to rejoice, with all God’s people, in the powerful promise that God gives us in Lamentations 3…

 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
    “therefore I will hope in him.”

       Lamentations 3:22-24

As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.

 And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

      Revelation 20:7-10

As I reread the passage, I reflect on the questions, “How is my life touched by this word?” and “How does this passage connect with my life?”

This passage reveals the final chapter of evil’s story. Satan is released briefly, deceives the nations, and gathers them for one last rebellion—but the battle is not prolonged. God’s victory is swift and decisive. Fire comes from heaven, and Satan is thrown into the lake of fire forever. Evil does not slowly fade away; it is fully and finally judged. For believers, this passage is not meant to stir fear, but confidence. No matter how intense deception may become, God’s sovereignty is absolute, and his justice is certain. Faithfulness now is strengthened by the assurance that evil’s end is already written.

Ask

Lord, I ask that you give me confidence that one day you will end all evil and even the evil one himself.

  1. How does knowing the final defeat of evil shape the way I face present trials?
  2. Where do I need to guard my heart against deception and false hope?
  3. How does God’s ultimate victory encourage me to persevere in obedience?
  4. In what ways can I live more boldly for Christ knowing the outcome is secure?

Lord, break through the evil of this world. Defeat all the darkness and bring those who are clouded by Satan into freedom. To you belongs all power and glory forever and ever.

Yield

As I read the passage for the final time, I listen to how the Lord is inviting me to respond to him. Where in my life do I need to yield in obedience to what he has for me?

 And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

      Revelation 20:7-10

Yielding Prayer

Almighty God, I praise you because evil does not have the final word—you do. Help me live faithfully in the present, anchored in the certainty of your victory. Guard my heart from deception, strengthen my resolve to obey you, and fill me with courage to stand firm. I yield my fears, my doubts, and my future into your hands, trusting that your justice will prevail and your kingdom will endure forever.

Yielding Promise

And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in Matthew 11…

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

      Matthew 11:28-30

Closing Prayer

Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus
