Personal Worship
We remind ourselves of the armor that the Lord has given us.
Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.
As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.
Prayer of Approach
Lord, fill me with your Holy Spirit. I seek to hear you today, so speak for I am listening. I bow my heart and put aside distractions. In this time, I seek you and you alone.
I choose to rejoice, with all God’s people, in the powerful promise that God gives us in Proverbs 3…
Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones.
Proverbs 3:7-8
As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

As I reread the passage, I reflect on the questions, “How is my life touched by this word?” and “How does this passage connect with my life?”
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Paul reminds believers that the Christian life is lived in the strength of the Lord, not in human resolve or self-confidence. The battle we face is real, but it is not primarily against people, circumstances, or institutions—it is spiritual in nature. God does not leave His people defenseless; He provides armor that enables us to stand firm rather than collapse in fear or compromise. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God are not abstract ideas but daily provisions meant to shape how we think, live, and respond. Prayer anchors the entire armor, keeping us dependent on God’s power. Victory is not found in aggression or control, but in steadfast faithfulness, obedience, and perseverance in Christ.
Lord, remind me of the battle that I am in today and show me how to depend on you in the midst of it.
Lord God, we confess that we have grown comfortable where we should have been hungry, and distracted where we should have been devoted. Breathe again on dry places in our hearts. Revive our hearts and make us alive for you and your glory!
As I read the passage for the final time, I listen to how the Lord is inviting me to respond to him. Where in my life do I need to yield in obedience to what he has for me?

Yielding Prayer
Mighty God, I confess that I often try to face spiritual battles in my own strength and wisdom. Forgive me for underestimating the battle and neglecting the armor you have provided. Today, I choose to put on the full armor of God and to stand firm in faith. Teach me to walk in truth, righteousness, and peace, and to depend on your Word and Spirit. I yield myself to you, trusting your power to sustain me and lead me in obedience, for your glory alone.
Yielding Promise
And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in John 6…
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

Closing Prayer
Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus
