Personal Worship
Today, we celebrate the gospel’s glorious invitation and our opportunity to respond to Jesus in faith.
Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.
As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.
Prayer of Approach
Jesus, I need you every hour. You are the only one who saves. I ask that you meet with me now. Let me experience you in a way that transforms my life to look more and more like you.
I choose to rejoice, with all God’s people, in the powerful promise that God gives us in Psalm 145…
The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
He fulfills the desire of those who fear him;
he also hears their cry and saves them.
Psalm 145:18-19
As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:9-13
As I reread the passage, I reflect on the questions, “How is my life touched by this word?” and “How does this passage connect with my life?”
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Paul makes the invitation of salvation wonderfully clear: those who confess Jesus as Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised him from the dead will be saved. Salvation is not limited by our background, accomplishments, social standing, or previous failures. The same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call upon him. But this invitation also demands a personal response, reminding us that familiarity with Christianity is not the same as faith in Jesus Christ. We are called to believe in the risen Savior, acknowledge him as Lord, and depend on him for our salvation. Having received such an extraordinary gift, we should also long for others to hear and respond to the same good news.
Lord, you are the only place to find salvation. Let the confession of my heart be clear and lead me to greater dependence on you.
Father, bring a great awakening of salvation to our families, neighborhoods, and churches. Open hearts to receive the gospel, and give your people renewed boldness to proclaim that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.
As I read the passage for the final time, I listen to how the Lord is inviting me to respond to him. Where in my life do I need to yield in obedience to what he has for me?

Yielding Prayer
Lord Jesus, I confess that you alone are my Savior and Lord. I yield my life to your authority and ask you to use me today to help others discover the gift of salvation found only in you.
Yielding Promise
And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in John 1…
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
John 1:12
Closing Prayer
Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus
