Personal Worship
Personal Worship will be truncated this week! We will meditate on God’s faithfulness to us in 2025, and we will look ahead to 2026 in prayer.
Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.
As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.
Prayer of Approach
Lord, as I enter into this time, will you help me to remember? Throughout Scripture, you call your people into remembrance of what you have done in their lives. Do that for me today. Let me call to mind your faithfulness in the midst of all the messiness that this year brought.
As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 103:1-5
The Psalmist is constantly reminding us to look back. To remember not just who God is, but what he has done. Take some time to meditate on the year that is ending. The blessings that the Lord has provided. The forgiveness that the Lord has granted. The healing, redemption, and satisfaction that he has provided.
Lord, in obedience, I bless you today. You are God, and I am not. In the midst of a broken and unpredictable world, you showed up every time. It might not have been the timing I desired, or the way I thought it should be, but you showed up. You have been faithful to me and let me not forget all your benefits today.
Closing Prayer
Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus
