Personal Worship
We long for our glorification that is to come.
Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.
As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.
Prayer of Approach
Lord, as I approach your throne, remind me who you are and who I am in you. I humble myself before you, and I lay all my anxieties and cares at your feet today.
I choose to rejoice, with all God’s people, in the powerful promise that God gives us in Psalm 131…
O Lord, my heart is not lifted up;
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvelous for me.
But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
like a weaned child is my soul within me.
O Israel, hope in the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore.
Psalm 131:1-3
As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.
I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

As I reread the passage, I reflect on the questions, “How is my life touched by this word?” and “How does this passage connect with my life?”

How amazing is the truth that our glorification is coming. One day, we will be freed from the presence of sin. All that is wrong in this world will be undone. The lingering presence of sin in our lives will be banished, and we will forever be set free. We long for this day and we live in trust that it is coming.
Lord, give me faith to know that this is my certain future. Let my hope of what is to come change the way I live today.
Lord, revive your people! Pour out your Spirit in a supernatural way for a season of time and bring many to faith. Wipe out the darkness and bind the enemy.
As I read the passage for the final time, I listen to how the Lord is inviting me to respond to him. Where in my life do I need to yield in obedience to what he has for me?

Yielding Prayer
Lord, you are so good to me. You give me my ending and let me know that it is certain. Let me trust and hope in that. In obedience I live differently today, because I know that day is coming. Let me spread this hope to all those around me.
Yielding Promise
And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in Exodus 14…
“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

Closing Prayer
Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus
