Personal Worship

We end the week encouraging our hearts in who God is.

Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.

Pause

As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.

Prayer of Approach

Lord, as I approach your throne today I want to bury the truth you have for me deep in my heart. Restore my soul today. Fill me with your peace and your presence as I enter into this time.

Rejoice and Reflect

I choose to rejoice, with all God’s people, in the powerful promise that God gives us in Psalm 24…

Lift up your heads, O gates!
    And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord, strong and mighty,
    the Lord, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
    And lift them up, O ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord of hosts,
    he is the King of glory!

      Psalm 24:7-10

As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.

The Lord your God is in your midst,
    a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
    he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.

       Zephaniah 3:17

As I reread the passage, I reflect on the questions, “How is my life touched by this word?” and “How does this passage connect with my life?”

The Lord your God is in your midst,
    a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
    he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.

       Zephaniah 3:17

Today speak this verse over yourself. Ask the Holy Spirit to experience these words in a tangible way. God is in your midst. He is mighty to save. He rejoices over you with gladness. He quiets you with his love. He exults over you with loud singing. That’s how much he loves and cares for you.

Ask

Lord, let me experience you like this by the power of your Holy Spirit today. Make my heart sing at the beauty of this passage.

  1. Where do I need to remind myself that this is who God is?
  2. Where do I need to remind myself that this is how God sees me?
  3. Where do I doubt this passage?

Lord, revive us again! Let us see your glory. Pour out your Holy Spirit in a supernatural way that all can see. Bring many to faith and hope in you.

Yield

As I read the passage for the final time, I listen for how the Lord is inviting me to respond to him. Where in my life do I need to yield in obedience to what he has for me?

The Lord your God is in your midst,
    a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
    he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.

       Zephaniah 3:17

Yielding Prayer

Lord, sing over me with your love today. Where there is fear bring assurance. Where there is anxiety bring peace. Let me experience what Zephaniah 3:17 tells me is mine.

Yielding Promise

And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in 2 Corinthians 1:20…

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

       2 Corinthians 1:20

Closing Prayer

Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus.
