We end the week with the BCS theme verse for the year!
Together we will pray (P.R.A.Y.) each day – ‘P’: Pausing to be still as we come into the presence of the Lord. ‘R’: Rejoicing as we remember who our God is and what He has done, and Reflecting on His word. ‘A’: Asking God to help us and others. And ‘Y’: yielding to His will in accordance with His word.
As I come before you to pray, I still my thoughts and quiet my mind. I seek to make you the center of my focus.
Prayer of Approach
Lord, as I come to you this morning, would you take what seems ordinary and by your power bring an extraordinary, supernatural response? You are the God of Resurrection, so meet with me now.
I choose to rejoice, with all God’s people, in the powerful promise that God gives us in Psalm 16…
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16:11
As you read the passages below, ask the Lord to cause a word or phrase to stand out to you.
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
John 14:1-7
As I reread the passage, I reflect on the questions, “How is my life touched by this word?” and “How does this passage connect with my life?”

The greatest gift we can offer the next generation is not simply a strong education, good values, or preparation for future success. We must point them to Jesus. He does not merely show us a way to God; he is the way. He does not merely teach true ideas; he is the truth. He does not merely improve our lives; he is the life. In a confused and anxious world, Jesus gives us a sure foundation. Our shared mission is to help children know him, trust him, and follow him. As the church and school work together, we can confidently proclaim that lasting hope, truth, and life are found in Christ alone.
Lord, you are the way, the truth, and the life! Let that be the cry of my heart and the message I spread through my life.
Pray for the salvation of many students this year at BCS! Pray that the students would come by the power of the Holy Spirit to know Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life!
As I read the passage for the final time, I listen to how the Lord is inviting me to respond to him. Where in my life do I need to yield in obedience to what he has for me?

Yielding Prayer
Jesus, I yield my fears, plans, and influence to you. Help me trust you completely and use my life to lead others toward the hope that is found in you alone.
Yielding Promise
And now, as I move into the day ahead, the Lord who loves me reminds me in Philippians 1…
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Closing Prayer
Lord, enable me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love you today with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to serve you today, by loving and caring for others as I do my own self; and, to exalt you today, by telling the people in my world about the abundant and eternal life found only through faith in Jesus
