Hey Church!
Our recent weekend newsletters have traced the subject of worship from the Garden of Eden to the first Temple of Solomon. The central theme that continues to emerge with each new instance of Scripture’s tabernacle/temple motif is this idea that the all-powerful God desires to be with us. In fact, He has gone to extraordinary lengths and spared no expense in order to make His dwelling place among us, His people.
In preparation for worship this weekend, just let that sink in.
Like you, God could choose to spend His time elsewhere this Sunday. But, amazingly, His greatest joy is to invest His time in YOU. He delights in your singing; every word of praise on your lips is precious to Him. He wants good things for you in this life and so He opens His Word and says, “Come, let me teach you my ways and impart to you my own wisdom!” He knows that the enemy prowls around, looking for wounded sheep who have wandered off from the flock, and so He calls us all to praise Him to one another, in order to strengthen the faith of all.
God wants to be with us, His gathered people, this Sunday. What greater appointment could there be? I’ll be there to give Him my best worship! Will you come and do the same?
Your brother,
Ryan
