Alpha is a place to explore the Christian faith with others. It’s a series of 9 interactive sessions where you get to explore faith and wrestle with the big questions of life in a fun and nonjudgmental environment.
Each week we will gather as a group to connect over a meal, watch a video on the basics of the Christian faith, and discuss what we think in an honest and safe environment.
01. Food
Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. We start with food, because it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other.
02. Talk
The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Generally thirty minutes long, each video explores the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith?
03. Discussion
Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
We are located on the edge of the Rio Vista neighborhood which is southeast of Downtown Fort Lauderdale on Federal Highway. Parking is located on the south and north sides of the church building.
Nicky Gumbel, the founder of Alpha, offers an engaging, insightful, and accessible response to the tough questions that surround faith and Christianity in the modern world.
