Rio Vista Church

Serve the City Event

At Rio, we believe that God has called us to serve generously in the various places, ministries, and cities that we live in. As residents of Fort Lauderdale, it is our desire to find ways to serve the city in which God has placed our church community. So, this November, we are excited to invite you and your family to join us as we seek to serve the city together!

On Saturday, November 20th, we will be partnering together with other local churches in order to help Prevention Central host a “Fall Fest” event for families in the 33311 community at Joseph C. Carter Park.

Prevention Central, which was formerly known as Mount Bethel Human Services, is “a 501 © (3), non-profit, faith-based organization which was founded in 1993. Initially organized to address the issues of minority over representation in the juvenile justice system. Prevention Central has expanded to respond to the issues of Family Reunification Services, Prevention, Emergency Food Pantry, Parenting and Neighborhood Empowerment.” As an organization, Prevention Central diligently seeks, “To provide Help, Hope, and Healing to those who need it most!”

Through this event, we will be able to provide 400 Thanksgiving baskets to families in the 33311 community while also creating a fun, family-friendly community event. We would love to have you, your kids, and friends join us on this day. Come Serve the City with us as churches unite to Love South Florida this November!

We would love to have you Serve the City with us in three ways:

Help serve by connecting with the guests and making people feel welcome. Get to know them, help them engage in the activities, and maybe even share the Gospel with them!

Help coordinate and engage people by playing a game of basketball or help facilitate group games such as relay races, corn hole, frisbee, and other activities.

Help oversee and engage with children and families at the Bounce House.

Help serve at our crafts table, face painting station, and photo booth for children and families.

Help grill and distribute burgers, hot dogs, and drinks throughout the event.

*After you register, all servant leaders will receive a follow-up email with important details regarding the event (i.e when to arrive, parking, location, etc.). Additionally, you will have the opportunity to sign-up for specific time slots to serve at the event.
