Rio Vista Church

Digital Library

Here at Rio, we want to provide an ever-expanding digital library whereby you can grow not only in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ but in applying the Gospel to practical life issues such as Parenting, Marriage, and Prayer.

As you engage with the material below, we encourage you to share it with others as well.

Under the Hood:

Under the Hood

Join Pastor Sam Kastensmidt and Will Buschmann as they bring Biblical narratives roaring to life. Much like a classic car, the Bible is rich with text that can be difficult to understand with a modern lens. Sam and Will lift the hood on these stories, armed with archeological and historic evidence, to illuminate and affirm the biblical narratives, revealing the presence of Jesus in every story of the Bible.

Parenting:

Digital Literacy

At various stages in history, mediums of communication have transformed the way we see the world and interact with one another. We are currently living through one of those stages.

Unlike the radio, tv, or telegram though, the digital revolution has an immediate and targeted impact on our kids. Our children are digital natives, and we are digital immigrants. They are fluent in the language, and many of us are not.

Therefore, these courses seek to cultivate digital fluency amongst those who are best equipped to disciple the next generation.

Marriage:

Marriage Enrichment

The Bible uses the marriage relationship as a means of describing both the trinity (in marriage, the 2 become 1, much like the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one) and God’s relationship with his people (Christ is the groom, we are the bride). As such, marriage forms a sacred bond; precious in the sight of the Lord and fundamental to the flourishing of human society.

These videos are designed to give you simple, practical ideas and tools by which to strengthen and protect your marriage and cultivate a greater level of love, respect, joy, and understanding within it.

Prayer:

Pray First 2022

No matter what time of the year it may be, today is a great opportunity to take stock of your relationship with Jesus. Are you strong in him? Have you drifted? Are you hungry for more? This plan is designed to help you in that endeavor and to mobilize you, alongside your brothers and sisters across South Florida, for Mission in the name of Jesus!

We pray that God will meet you mightily in this plan for your freedom and his glory!

Pray First 2023

Sometimes it can feel like there is so much to do or be to successfully walk this Christian life. When in actuality, it is all about learning to abide with our Savior. From that safe and powerful place, we can confidently bring all our requests to God both for ourselves and for others, and then watch to see how He goes before us, opening the way for us to simply follow and share in His redemptive plan for the world! This plan is meant to focus us on these truths, to simplify and strengthen our walk with Jesus and unite us and our brothers and sisters in partnership for the gospel!

We pray that God would meet you mightily in this plan, fill you with His fullness and send you out in power for the kingdom!

Revival

This resource was created for Church United pastors who are part of an active study cohort here in SFL. One of the topics for our first meeting was revival. The video was created to set up that conversation.

Questions to help consider:
1) What holds us back from believing that “what God has done at one time, he can do” again in our time?

2) Think about a time in your life when you felt the overwhelming sense of God’s presence. What did it feel like? What did it produce in you?

3) What are the things that we have been depending on that keeps us from prayerfully falling in line and depending on God wholly and absolutely?

Watermark Gospel Series

Learn how you can find Jesus in every story!

Welcome to the Watermark Series! In Luke 24, Jesus taught his disciples that every story in the Bible points directly to him! He explained that we simply need to look for the gospel pattern of “suffering followed by glory.” That is, we need to look for something that points to his suffering on the cross, followed by something that points to the glory of Jesus’ resurrection! Browse our selection of the top stories in the Bible, and learn how you can find Jesus in every story!
