Love Bags

“It is a picnic in the park with friends for Jesus. That’s the picture I would want to leave people with.”

– Chet Beers

What Is Love Bags?

A local ministry founded by Bob Denison and led by Chet Beers at Holiday Park every Tuesday night desiring to reach the homeless in a real tangible way. Their ultimate goal is to love them as Jesus would.

Where Does It Meet?

Love Bags meets every Tuesday night at 7PM at Holiday Park, and Rio Vista Church organizes a team of servant leaders that cooks and serves on the last Tuesday of each month.

Cooking Team: We will meet at Rio Vista Church on the afternoon of the last Tuesday of the month. For specific times and locations, please register below and someone will be in touch with you shortly!

Serving Team:  We meet at Holiday Park in the grass area west of the Parker Playhouse. It’s easiest to enter the park from the NE 8th street and Federal Highway entrance.  We gather on the left-hand side in the grass area corner of Northeast 6th Terrace (next to Parker Playhouse).
*Some servant leaders help cook and serve on the last Tuesday of the month, and some servant leaders help cook and/or help serve. You are free to choose based on your availability!

We Need Volunteers Who Can:

  • Help cook for Lovebags
  • Fellowship & share the love of Jesus!
  • Set up for food distribution
  • Help distribute clothes, love bags or other donated items
  • Clean Up

If you have questions about Love Bags or you are willing to sign up as part of a team from Rio that provides the meal and serves it, please email Drew Chery, Missions Director, at drew@riovistachurch.com.
