Prepare for Worship (weekend of July 30)

Hey Church!

As you prepare for worship this weekend, please take some time to read thoughtfully through the lyrics of the songs we will be singing to God together. As always, there are links to the song on YouTube below, so begin to familiarize yourself with them and personalize the message of each one. You might even try praying these words out loud before you go to bed on Saturday night. And then come to church ready to sing with all you’ve got!

The Glory Is Yours

[Verse 1]
Blessing honor strength and power
Yours alone now and forever
Love this world could never stop
There is no one like our God

[Verse 2]
Reaching down to touch the broken
Mercy breaking through this moment
Faithful is the One who saves
Worthy is Your name

Chorus
Oh God the glory is Yours
The kingdom is come and the battle is over
Jesus in Your name we rise
And the glory is Yours
The glory is Yours

Verse 3
Throngs of angels watch and wonder,
On that day when time is over
E’ry heart at last proclaim
Worthy is Your name

Bridge
Nobody beside You
There has never been anyone anything like You

How Deep The Father’s Love For Us

Verse 1
How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Verse 2
Behold the Man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

Verse 3
I will not boast in anything
No gifts no pow’r no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Verse 1
People come together
Strange as neighbors our blood is one
Children of generations
Of every nation of Kingdom come

Hold your head up high and fear no evil
Fix your eyes on this one truth
God is madly in love with you
Take courage hold on be strong
Remember where our help comes from

Verse 2
Jesus our redemption
Our salvation is in His blood
Jesus Light of heaven
Friend forever His Kingdom come

Swing wide all you heavens
Let the praise go up as the walls come down
All creation everything with breath repeat the sound
All His children clean hands pure hearts
Good grace good God His Name is Jesus

 Living Hope

Verse 1
How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation, I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night
Then through the darkness Your loving-kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished the end is written
Jesus Christ my living hope

Verse 2
Who could imagine so great a mercy
What heart could fathom such boundless grace
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken I am forgiven
The King of kings calls me His own
Beautiful Savior I’m Yours forever
Jesus Christ my living hope

Chorus
Hallelujah praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope

Verse 3
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
(REPEAT)
Jesus Yours is the victory whoa

Ending
Jesus Christ my living hope
Oh God You are my living hope
