Discovering Who You Are

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good…All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many.”

2 Corinthians 14:4-7,12-14

Step One:

To those who have placed their faith in Jesus, Paul says in 1 Corinthians 12:27, “Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”

As a member of the Rio Vista Church family, we want to help you prayerfully discern how you have been uniquely gifted by the Holy Spirit as an individual in order that you might play your part within the body of Christ. In Romans 12:4-6, Paul says, For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them:”

We believe that God has a place for every person in ministry. God has gifted you with certain gifts, abilities, passions, relationships, and experiences in order for you to have a Platform for Mission. Our Mission Platforms are the places, ministries, and opportunities where we help others deeply engage with Jesus. In this life, our individual platforms for mission will look different, but our identity, purpose, and mission are the same in Christ. Together, we are sent out into the world to proclaim the good news of the Gospel!

We believe that you have been created on purpose, for a purpose. It would be a joy to walk with you as you identify, celebrate, and walk in the giftings that God has given to you. To begin, we want to invite you to take our “Discovering Who You Are,” assessment, which will help you begin prayerfully considering how the Holy Spirit has gifted you and how He desires to use you within the body of Christ and beyond. Let’s get started!

Step Two:

Once you’ve completed your assessment, you will receive an email with results that we encourage you to review as you continue to prayerfully consider how the Holy Spirit has gifted you and dream about where and how He might be leading you to serve within the body of Christ.

Now that you’ve identified your primary spiritual gifts, we want to help you use those gifts to live out God’s purpose for your life.

Below, you will find a list of recommend ways to serve based upon your spiritual gift(s).
